History

History

World Wide Recognition Company was founded in July of 1994 by current owner and active C.E.O, Sandra L. Truran. The company was established as a consulting firm to concentrate on the extraordinary requirements that large corporations endure to acknowledge the core contributions of individuals within their entire enterprise.

Beginnings

Prior to starting up World Wide Recognition, Sandra experienced over twenty years of sales management in the business industry. She was in charge of several corporate regional sales offices throughout the Midwest. In 1990, Sandra jumped on an opportunity to pioneer an innovative sales department located in Southwest Florida. A small patent plaque, mail order recognition company wanted Sandra to develop a team of sale associates to target a different market of patent recognition. Without hesitation, Sandra, her husband and three young sons moved to the sunshine state were she began construction on a ground-breaking sales department.

With Sandra's experience in the corporate world for so many years, she understood the internal makeup of how corporations function. Sandra's knowledge allowed her to develop a patent recognition program that was designed to target the special needs of the corporate world. The principles and infrastructure set forth in this sales division would soon become the foundation for World Wide Recognition Company Inc.

Vision

Integrity, honesty, superior quality, customer commitment, & accuracy all contributed to the vision that Sandra had for developing a corporate patent recognition program. The emphasis of these values would inspire Sandra to venture out as an entrepreneur and create World Wide Recognition Company Inc in the summer of 1994. World Wide Recognition became a pioneer to the awards and recognition industry, setting the standard on the importance of a corporation's effort to recognize those people that substantially affect the company's bottom line.

Expansion

In 1995 World Wide Recognition opened their on-site manufacturing facility in Ft. Myers, Florida. As a result, new jobs were created for workers in the surrounding community and additional employees were hired to correspond with the growth of business. By manufacturing the products "in-house", gave the company more control on the quality of the finished awards. Sandra wanted to be able to supply the highest quality product by eliminating the "middle-man", allowing World Wide Recognition to maintain cost of production and still produce the best product on the market.

Inside the first year of manufacturing, World Wide Recognition experienced a 60% increase of growth and had to move operations into a larger facility to accommodate the high rate of expansion. Over the next few years the company continued to accumulate size. By the year 1999 World Wide Recognition grew to a size of more than double than when it first began in 1994. This caused a second relocation of operations to contain the extravagant rate of growth.

Succession

Sandra hired her oldest son, Scott R. Bidgood, as President of World Wide Recognition in January of 2007. This is the first step Sandra is making to pass the business she so successfully started, over to the next generation of ownership. Under Scott's leadership World Wide Recognition has continued to grow and prosper. Scott's entry into the business has been marked with several significant changes within his first year as President. This includes relocating the company into Illinois, involvement of enhancing the PR for the company and developing and implementing a more user friendly website to better service the company's clients.

Today, World Wide Recognition is family owned and operated with the headquarters located in Elgin, Illinois, 30 miles west of the greater Chicago area.
